Revolutionary New Print Head Delivers the Ultimate in Image Quality

Based on a new generation of print head technology, the VS fires droplets of seven different sizes with unmatched precision for beautifully smooth gradations, precision photographs and flawless solid colors. A new gold-plated print head is designed to repel ink, preventing clogs. Precision-rounded nozzles combined with accurate ink firing produce perfect ink droplets for unrivaled image quality. Roland Intelligent Pass Control assures the highest productivity while maintaining smooth gradations and flawless solid colors.

Metallic Colors and White Ink Produce Premium Quality Results

With the introduction of the VS, Roland's spot color library has been expanded with more than 500 metallic colors that are easy to apply to any graphic. The VS swatch library also allows you to choose colors from popular graphics software including Adobe® Illustrator®.

With white ink, you can produce vivid CMYK colors even on transparent film by adding a white undercoat. Roland's advanced ink circulation system automatically prevents the pigments in metallic silver and white inks from settling, minimizing ink waste without manual intervention.

Choose From 3 Ink Configurations

When purchasing a VS Series printer you can choose from one of the following three ink configuration options:

8 Colour

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Metallic Silver & White
In the 8 colour configuration the VS can produce high quality prints across a wide range of media.
The White ink allows the VS to produce clear and vibrant prints no matter colour the media is, even if it is clear.
The Metallic Silver ink can be printed as a spot colour or combined with CMYK to produce a wide range of metallic and pearlescent colors.

6 Colour

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan & Light Magenta
If you don't require Metallic Silver or White then the VS can be configured to use 6 colours to achieve the same high quality prints as the the 8 colour configuration, simply without the option for White or Metallic colours.

4 Colour (Dual)

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black
The 4 colour configuration of the VS is ideal for high volume production.
Up to twice the print speed of the 6 and 8 colour configurations with only a small decrease in print quality.
No chromatic banding even with bi-directional printing due to the mirrored ink configuration.

Remote Production Management — “Roland OnSupport” Messaging System Included

Roland OnSupport is an online customer support system allowing you to remotely track the status of your VS activities. The system sends e-mail notifications directly to your PC or mobile phone with important information such as when a job is completed and when ink is running low. With Roland OnSupport , you have complete freedom to leave your printer unattended, knowing that critical production information will be sent to you in real time.

With VersaWorks RIP software, anyone can achieve professional print quality without advanced skills or previous experience. VersaWorks is built on the genuine Adobe PostScript 3 engine for reliable quality print after print. The Roland Color System accurately reproduces spot colors from Roland Color charts and swatch books and features 512 metallic colors including gold, silver, bronze and a wide range of pearlescent colors. VersaWorks also offers a variety of print options including the Max Impact preset for vivid outdoor graphics and Artistic mode for exceptional indoor graphics to be viewed up close. VersaWorks automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic so you can accurately monitor your time and costs.

Roland VersaWorks is supplied with all Roland printers, and is the only RIP that has a free upgrades policy. Upgrades can be automatically downloaded and installed at no cost. No other manufacturer offers this.
